     Kezar River Farm

We began building Kezar River Farm in 2001 as a homeschooling project with our children.  First we built the small post and beam/strawbale main house, then came the barn, and finally the pastures. In 2005 the first alpacas arrived, Corina and Mica with cria at their sides.  One of those cria,  Sundowner, is now our herdsire.  The herd has since grown to 14 animals

We love to share our knowlege of the animals, to show off our products,  or help out with questions you may have on a knitting project.  Come and visit us on the farm or at one of the fairs in which we participate, they will be listed on our homepage.

We are located in Sweden, Maine - an area of beautiful rolling hills in the western part of the state. We are only 75 minutes northwest of Portland and 25 minutes northeast of North Conway, New Hampshire.

About Us

Farm News:                                The Alpaca Forum begins this weekend!

At 11 am on Saturday October 1, 2011 we will open the farm to participants of our free ‘Alpaca Forum’!  We will discuss basic alpaca husbandry in the first hour.  Be prepared to go out into the barns to actually put into practice some of what we have discussed.  We’ll break for lunch from 12 to 1.  I’ll have fresh baked bread and homemade soup on hand for any who wish to purchase it, or bring your own.  From 1 to 2 we’ll work on knitting, European style.  You are welcome to come for the morning or afternoon sessions, or both.  All you have to do is call or email to sign up, space is limited to 6 participants!

If you can not make it this weekend plan to join us for the next sessions on Oct. 22 and Nov. 12!
